Twrp recovery for Xiaomi Redmi 10 / Prime (Selene) - Download and Install

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 and the Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime are two of the latest entry smartphones from the Redmi lineup. Both phones were launched in the last quarter of 2021 and they are both powered by MediaTek Helio G88 chipset coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The Redmi entry level smartphones are famously known for not always getting enough software support as well as custom ROMs, unfortunately the Redmi 10 / Prime are also no exceptions to this. The good news however is that we already have a couple of unofficial custom ROMs as well as twrp recovery for the device.

Even though there isn't an official twrp support for the Redmi 10 series, we already have a stable unofficial twrp recovery for the device and it is based on Google Android 11 R.

How to Install Twrp Recovery on Redmi 10 / Prime (Selene)

Requirements:

• Unlocked Bootloader: Check out detailed guide Here
• Adb/fastboot: Download Here
• Twrp for Redmi 10 / Prime (Selene): Download from Here or Here
• Vbmeta.img: Download from HERE or Here

How to Flash/Install Twrp recovery on Redmi 10 / Prime (Selene):

• Make sure your bootloader is unlocked or click on this LINK for guide
• Install fastboot/ADB driver on your PC by clicking on this LINK
• Download the Twrp from this LINK or the link provided above 
• Rename the downloaded twrp image to twrp.img
• Download the Vbmeta Zip file and copy it to your phone root folder.
• Copy the downloaded Twrp and vbmeta file to any folder on your PC.
• Inside the folder, hold down your shift key and right click on an empty space inside the folder.
• Select Open command window here from the menu options.
• Go to phone settings >> About >> Tap MIUI version 7 times
• Go back to phone settings >> Additional settings >> Developer options >> Enable Developer options.
• Connect your phone to your PC.
• Then enter the command below and hit the enter key to reboot to fastboot mode

            adb reboot bootloader

                                OR


• Turn off your phone and reboot into fastboot mode manually by holding down the power button + volume down.
• Input the command below and hit the Enter key to flash Twrp on your phone

            fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

• After Installation, enter the command below to reboot your phone to recovery.

            fastboot boot twrp.img 

• Once your phone boots into recovery, tap on install and select the vbmeta zip file you downloaded earlier.
• After that, you can go ahead and reboot or flash other things you want to.
