Update 01 March 2021: A new Global stable MIUI 12 update has just started rolling out for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 / Redmi 10x 4G with the build version number V12.0.7.0.QJOMIXM. This new update comes with the latest Android security patch, as well as a couple of other improvements.

Update; 02/01/2021: A new update for the Global stable MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 9 / Redmi 10x 4G (Codename: Merlin) has just started rolling out for all users globally. This new update comes with the build version number V12.0.6.0.QJOMIXM and it includes the December 2020 Google Android security patch. 

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, also known as the Redmi 10x 4G (Codename: Merlin) is getting yet another MIUI 12 based software update. This is a global roll out, so it is available for Redmi Note 9 users who happen to own the Global version of the phone.

The latest Global stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9 comes with the build version number V12.0.4.0.QJOMIX. As expected, this update is based on Google Android 10, it also includes the latest September 2020 Android security patch.

How to Manually check for MIUI 12 OTA update on your Xiaomi phone

  • Go to settings.
  • Tap on About phone >> Software Update
  • Tap on the MIUI 11 Logo in the middle of the screen 10 times.
  • After that, tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Tap on update settings and turn on Receive updates early.
  • After that, Go back and tap on Check for updates.
  • If you get No update available, then you have to either wait for the update to show up on your phone or download the ROM from the links below and follow the instructions HERE.to manually install the update.
