Xiaomi Mi band 5 launched globally as Mi smart Band 5 - Full specifications and price
Xiaomi has officially launched the successor to its Mi band 4 which is the Mi band 5. The Mi band is the company's wearable fitness band lineup.
Xiaomi is currently the world's second largest seller of smart wearables in the world after Apple. This is mostly due to how affordable their smart bands are.
The Mi band 5 which was initially announced in China a couple of weeks ago is now available globally. Xiaomi has also rebranded it as the Mi smart band 5.
Just like last year's Mi band 4, the global variant of the Mi band 5 (Mi smart band 5) will not be coming with support for NFC. The blood oxygen sensor is also not available for the international variant of the Mi band 5. This means this two features will be limited to the Chinese variant only.
The Mi band 5 comes with a 1.1 inches Amoled display which is larger than the 0.95-inches found on the Mi band 4. It comes with a 125mAh battery which gives it up to 14days of use on just one single charge. It also now comes with a new type of charger design which makes it possible to charge the device without removing it from its wrist band.
Some of the features available includes a heart rate monitor which xiaomi claims is 50% more accurate than on the previous version, upgraded sleep tracker, GPS, water resistance, remote camera shutter and over 65 watch faces to choose from.
The device also monitors most of your activities with 11 different exercise modes which includes like cycling, walking, yoga, swimming and many more. Females will also be able to efficiently monitor their menstrual circle.
It will be available in Europe in Orange, Yellow, Navy Blue, Black, Mint Green, and Teal color options. Even though the official price is €40, those who order it early will be able to get it at just €35.
