Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S (Note 9 Pro) full specification and price
Even though the ongoing pandemic has affected a whole lot of scheduled events, it hasn't really stopped companies from releasing new products, as many of them have decided to stick to virtual launch for now.
Xiaomi just recently launched its new Redmi Note 9S. This is the global version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro which was announced a couple of days ago and its is also the successor to the Redmi Note 8 which was launched late last year.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm's mid range Snapdragon 720G chipset coupled with a 4GB or 6GB RAM as well as a 64GB or 128GB internal storage, both of which can be expanded via the MicroSD card slot.
The Redmi Note 9S has a pretty large 6.7 inches IPS LCD display panel which has a resolution 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The phone's screen as well as the back glass cover are both protected by corning gorilla glass 5 . The phone also supports HDR10 contents and the screen brightness can go as high as 450 nits.
Xiaomi has been improving a lot in its camera department for quite sometime now and the mid-range Redmi smartphones are not left out. The cameras on the Note 9S are Quad rear setup with a primary 48-MegaPixels with f1/8 aperture, an 8MP 119 degrees ultra wide angle lens with f2/2 aperture, a 5MP macro lens for close up shots and a 2MP depth sensor with f2/4 aperture.
In the front is a single 16MP camera which is housed in the water drop notch. It has an f2/4 aperture and it is capable of recording slow motions videos of up to 120fps.
One of the main selling points of the Redmi Note 9S is the massive 5020mAh battery capacity which should pretty much last a day on a single charge. It supports up to 18W fast charging. The phone even comes with a much more higher 22.5W charger out of the box.
As far as pricing goes, the 4/64GB version will start at €165 / $250 while the much higher 6GB RAM / 128GB storage version will sell for €190 / $280. The Redmi Note 9s will be available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Grey colour options. Sales is expected to start on April 9.
