Xiaomi to launch the Redmi 9 early next with Mediatek G70 chipset

The Xiaomi latest entry level smartphone which is the Redmi 8 is just about 2 months old and according to latest reports, Redmi is already working on a successor which will be called the Redmi 9.

The Redmi 9 is expected to launch as early as Q1 of 2020 in China before making its way to other markets. If you recall, the Redmi 8 was first launched in India first before other markets but Xiaomi has decided to launch the upcoming Redmi 9 in China first.

There isn't much info on the Redmi 9 yet but according to reports, it will be powered by Mediatek Helio G70 chipset. It will also come with a larger 6.6-inch display compared to the 6.2-inch on the Redmi 8. It might also still retain the pretty larger 5,000mAh battery.
