Xiaomi has sold 4.5 million Redmi K20 Series smartphones, Redmi K30 launched with 5G at just $285
Xiaomi launched the Redmi K20 series which comprises of the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro in May of this year. The main idea behind the K20 series (especially the K20 Pro) is to give users high-end flagship specs with a killer price.
This strategy is paying off for Xiaomi as the company has been recording massive sale. Redmi was able to sell over 200,000 units of the Redmi K20 at launch and over 1 million units within the first month of its debut. Now, 6 months down the line and Xiaomi has sold over 4.5 million units of both the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro.
The announcement was made at the official unveiling of the Redmi K30 which is going to be the successor to the current Redmi K20 smartphone. The Redmi K30 features an IPS LCD camera cut-out display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is a first for Redmi.
The regular version of the Redmi K30 is powered by Snapdragon 730G chipset while the Redmi K30 5G is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with integrated 5G modem. Both phones have 6GB or 8GB RAM options as well as 64GB, 128GB and 256GB expandable internal storage.
The Redmi K30 5G is the first 5G smartphone from Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi and it is also one of the cheapest 5G smartphones available on the market starting at just around $285 for 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
