There are different types of GCam mod compatible with the Redmi Note 8 Pro (Codename: Begonia) and this ranges from GCam 5 to GCam 6, to even the latest GCam 7.2.

I will be posting all of them here as well as a few easy step on how to install them on your Redmi Note 8 Pro - Begonia.  The device is powered by MediaTek Helio G90T SoC and it also packs a pretty large 4,500mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is equipped with a high resolution 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor, which is paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. In the front is a 20 MP single selfie camera. Even though the phone takes pretty decent shots by default, GCam lets it takes full advantage of the camera hardware, combined with google's advance AI algorithm.

GCam 5.1 for Redmi Note 8 Pro (Begonia)

This particular version of GCam is mainly for smartphones running on Android 8.1 Oreo but it has however being tested on the Redmi Note 8 Pro and it works properly.

Even though this GCam version works on the Redmi Note 8, I will still advice you to download one of the newer versions below as GCam 5 is a bit old and lacks some of the new features of Google Camera.

GCam 6 for Redmi Note 8 Pro (Begonia)

Unlike the GCam 5, the GCam 6 is mainly for smartphones running on Android 9 Pie and above, and the Redmi Note 8 Pro falls into this category.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro however has a quad camera setup which isn't really supported by the GCam 6 but a new Mod by Wyroczen has just being built to take full advantage of the Quad camera setup on the Begonia device.

Another good news is that support has been added for the MIUI 11.

GCam 7.2 for Redmi Note 8 Pro - Begonia

The GCAm 7.2 is currently the latest version of the Google Camera App. A user of the MI community who goes by the username of Feds64 has confirmed that the Google Camera (GCam) 7.2 by onFire is working properly with the Redmi Note 8 Pro (Begonia).

This particular version of GCam 7 which is called Fire_2nd_form_7.2.011 is the one I will strongly recommend for you guys to download as it has been tested and confirmed to work on even the latest version of MIUI. It also comes with all the new GCam features like Astronomical mode, transparent UI, enhanced Night Sight, Motion Blur, Camera Coaching and HDR+.
